Rivera is a recent high school graduate and valedictorian of Pace Center for Girls. Rivera was a former secretary of the Pace Center for Girls’ Leadership Council and was a member of Leadership Grow of Palm Beach County. Rivera currently serves as a 2022 Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Youth Ambassador.
Pace girls got a unique hands-on experience from the Lakeland Fire Department. The Lakeland Fire Department’s Igniting Change: Women in the Fire Service Campaign, is aimed at attracting women to the male-dominated industry.
The bank’s donation will be distributed among 13 Southwest Florida nonprofit organizations, including Pace Lee, and charitable causes that are serving the ongoing needs of local residents in the Sanibel, Fort Myers Beach, Pine Island, Cape Coral and Fort Myers areas who have been affected by Hurricane Ian.
October 11 marked the 10th anniversary of the International Day of the Girl, an observance day declared by the United Nations to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights. Florida’s St. Petersburg College (SPC) celebrated the occasion by hosting the third annual Pearls & Portfolio Symposium on Oct. 7, in partnership with Pinellas County Schools, Girl Scouts of West Central Florida and Pace Center for Girls.
