{"id":1979,"date":"2025-05-01T18:20:07","date_gmt":"2025-05-01T18:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pacecenter.org\/stories\/?p=1979"},"modified":"2025-05-01T18:20:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-01T18:20:08","slug":"alexis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pacecenter.org\/stories\/alexis","title":{"rendered":"Alexis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hello, my name is Alexis.\u00a0 I am 16 years old and proud to say that I will be graduating from Pace Center for Girls, Volusia-Flagler this June and will attend Daytona State College.\u00a0 I began my journey at Pace as a 10<sup>th<\/sup> grader in September 2024 and the progress I\u2019ve made in such a short time would not have been possible without the unwavering support, guidance, and compassion of the incredible staff and teachers here.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before coming to Pace, I struggled deeply with motivation and self-confidence.&nbsp; School felt like a place of anxiety rather than growth.&nbsp; I often felt discouraged, disconnected, and overwhelmed.&nbsp; I didn\u2019t want to attend classes, let alone engage with my schoolwork.&nbsp; I carried around emotions I didn\u2019t know how to express, and I felt isolated in those feelings.
