Eric Hall<\/strong>&nbsp;announced the following new appointments to the&nbsp;<strong>Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention State Advisory Group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention State Advisory Group, based on federal guidelines for representation, consists of leaders from across the state of Florida who have the training, experience, or special knowledge of the juvenile justice system. Members of the Juvenile Justice State Advisory Group are responsible for providing guidance in support of DJJ\u2019s federally funded activities, while also engaging with the department in the implementation and monitoring of its strategic priorities which are focused on building stronger youth, stronger families, and safer communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Margaret \u201cPeggy\u201d Aune<\/strong><br>Dr. Aune is the vice chancellor for Strategic Improvement at the&nbsp;<strong>Florida Department of Education<\/strong>. Dr. Aune is a member of Leadership Florida Education Class III and the State Health Improvement (SHIP) Steering Committee. She is a past member of the School Superintendents Association and the Florida Association of School Administrators. Dr. Aune earned her bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from Florida Gulf Coast University and earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lindsay Bettis<\/strong><br>Bettis is&nbsp;<strong>Miss Florida 2022<\/strong>&nbsp;and currently serves as the community outreach director for&nbsp;<strong>Advanced Recovery Systems<\/strong>. She is a member of&nbsp;<strong>Project Opioid, the Orange County Drug-Free Coalition<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Florida Recovery Schools of Central Florida<\/strong>. She earned her bachelor\u2019s degree from the&nbsp;<strong>University of Central Florida<\/strong>&nbsp;and is pursuing her master\u2019s degree from the&nbsp;<strong>Louisiana State University Shreveport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jack Brewer<\/strong><br>Brewer is the founder and executive director of the<strong>&nbsp;Jack Brewer Foundation<\/strong>. Brewer serves on the Commission on the&nbsp;<strong>Social Status of Black Men and Boys<\/strong>&nbsp;within the&nbsp;<strong>United States Commission on Civil Rights<\/strong>. Brewer earned his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from the University of Minnesota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jack Campbell<\/strong><br>Campbell is the state attorney for the&nbsp;<strong>2nd Judicial Circuit<\/strong>. Campbell serves as vice president of the&nbsp;<strong>Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association<\/strong>&nbsp;and board member of the&nbsp;<strong>Justice Administrative Commission<\/strong>. Campbell received his bachelor\u2019s degree from the&nbsp;<strong>Florida State University<\/strong>&nbsp;and his juris doctorate from&nbsp;<strong>Samford University<\/strong>\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>Cumberland School of Law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Michelle Cook<\/strong><br>Cook is the sheriff of the&nbsp;<strong>Clay County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/strong>. Cook serves as a member of the&nbsp;<strong>Florida Sheriff\u2019s Association<\/strong>, co-chair of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement\u2019s Regional Domestic Security Task Force, and commissioner of the&nbsp;<strong>Florida Commission for Accreditation<\/strong>. Cook earned both her bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from the&nbsp;<strong>University of North Florida<\/strong>. Cook is also a graduate of the<strong>&nbsp;FBI Law Enforcement Executives<\/strong>&nbsp;(LEEDS \u2013 Session 80) training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Angela Garcia Falconetti<\/strong><br>Dr. Garcia Falconetti is the president of&nbsp;<strong>Polk State College<\/strong>. Dr. Garcia Falconetti serves as a commissioner on the Education Commission of the States and is a member of the Excelencia in Education and Excelencia in Action Network\u2019s Presidents for Latino Student Success and the Florida Chamber Foundation Board. Dr. Garcia Falconetti earned a bachelor\u2019s degree from&nbsp;<strong>New York University<\/strong>&nbsp;and earned a master\u2019s degree and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the&nbsp;<strong>University of North Florida<\/strong>. Dr. Garcia Falconetti also completed an endowed post-doctoral fellowship with&nbsp;<strong>The University of Texas at Austin<\/strong>&nbsp;and served as special assistant to the nation\u2019s first Deputy Assistant Secretary for Community Colleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Brian Ford<\/strong><br>Ford is the manager of constituent events for&nbsp;<strong>Special Olympics Florida<\/strong>. Ford served as secretary of the&nbsp;<strong>Sport Management Student Association at the Florida State University<\/strong>&nbsp;and earned his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from the Florida State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Glenton \u201cGlen\u201d Gilzean<\/strong><br>Glenton \u201cGlen\u201d Gilzean Jr. has been appointed to serve as chair of the Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention State Advisory Group. Professionally, Gilzean serves as president and CEO of the&nbsp;<strong>Central Florida Urban League<\/strong>. He holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from the&nbsp;<strong>University of South Florida<\/strong>&nbsp;and a master\u2019s degree from the&nbsp;<strong>University of South Florida\u2019s Center of Entrepreneurship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Elmo Golden<\/strong><br>Golden is a mentor for&nbsp;<strong>Dignity Speaks, Inc<\/strong>. and program director for the Jack Brewer Foundation. Golden serves as lead volunteer and podcaster for&nbsp;<strong>Lean on Me USA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tony Lloyd<\/strong><br>Lloyd is the assistant secretary for Administration at the<strong>&nbsp;Florida Department of Children and Families<\/strong>. As a member of the armed forces, Lloyd served in several leadership roles with the&nbsp;<strong>Georgia Army National Guard<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Joint Detention Operations Group<\/strong>&nbsp;in Cuba. He earned both his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees from Georgia Southern University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel Moreno<\/strong><br>Moreno is an intern at the&nbsp;<strong>Florida Attorney General\u2019s Office<\/strong>&nbsp;and a current fellow at&nbsp;<strong>Florida State University\u2019s Institute of Politics<\/strong>. Moreno is currently pursuing his bachelor\u2019s degree at the Florida State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Debra Pace<\/strong><br>Dr. Pace is the superintendent of the<strong>&nbsp;Osceola County School District<\/strong>. Dr. Pace earned her bachelor\u2019s degree from&nbsp;<strong>Auburn University<\/strong>, and both a master\u2019s degree and a Doctorate of Education from the&nbsp;<strong>University of Central Florida<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hunter Pollack<\/strong><br>Pollack is a Florida gubernatorial fellow at the Florida Department of Education. Pollack earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from the Florida State University and is currently pursuing his juris doctorate at the&nbsp;<strong>Florida State University College of Law<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Angie Rivera<\/strong><br>Rivera is a recent high school graduate and valedictorian of Pace Center for Girls. Rivera was a former secretary of the Pace Center for Girls\u2019 Leadership Council and was a member of Leadership Grow of Palm Beach County. Rivera currently serves as a 2022 Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Youth Ambassador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Antron \u201cTron\u201d Reynolds<\/strong><br>Reynolds is a published children\u2019s author and former teacher for the&nbsp;<strong>Bay County School District<\/strong>.
