PACE has an on-going campaign to support each anniversary year of our Center in Palm Beach County!

This year marks the 17th Anniversary of PACE in Palm Beach County. PACE (Practical, Academic and Cultural Education) Center for Girls is a day treatment program providing gender-responsive educational and social services to at-risk adolescent girls.  Our non-profit, non-residential centers address the increasing needs of young girls, ages 12-17, and offer an alternative to incarceration or institutionalization.  Founded in Jacksonville in 1985, with $100 and a donated room in a local church, PACE Centers are now located in 17 of Florida’s cities due to the significant success it has had with adolescent girls.

Through our 17 years in Palm Beach County, PACE has served over 1000 girls and currently serves approximately 105 girls throughout the year. With your support, we can do so much more for so many more girls. Your tax-deductible gift ensures that PACE will be a resource to girls for years to come and that all girls can find their voice, achieve their potential and celebrate a life defined by responsibility, dignity, serenity and grace.

Simply donate $17 right now for the 17th anniversary and you'll support our efforts to provide girls with a safe, nurturing place to find a path back to hope. Won't you please lend your support? Just $17 will make a difference. (Click: www.pacecenter.org, hit the DONATE button and select Palm Beach, West Palm Beach under the Center category.)

Please participate in the "$17 for the 17th" campaign by taking a moment right now to give what you can, and invite your friends to join in, too. Let's spread the word about the important work that PACE Center for Girls does with girls in Palm Beach County.

We are excited to announce we are entering into the third year of United Way funding for our PACEWorks! program this summer. What is PACEWorks!? It's a program designed to work with girls utilizing an education and career readiness component to receive career exploration and guidance, improve academic success and increase basic employability skills and trade specific skills. Upon completion, girls will successfully exit the program with marketable skills that prepare them for employment or articulation into postsecondary education.

Career/technical skills are the foundation of PACEworks! It includes a course of study to provide girls with the skills needed for entry-level employment. Girls learn valuable job-related skills and use tools of the trade to perform actual job tasks.  Traditional and non-traditional careers are included and the curriculum integrates academic skills into each of the career/vocational tasks.

PACE has continued to build partnerships with local businesses, organizations and schools to enhance the PACEWorks! curriculum. Girls have the opportunity to participate in mini-internships, attend skills-specific workshops, partner with mentors and work towards industry recognized certifications.

Twelve girls recently completed the first 10-week basic skills class in our Culinary Program. Seven of the twelve will have the opportunity to participate in an advanced culinary class beginning in June.

PACE Palm Beach County will be hosting our annual Believing in Girls Luncheon on May 29, 2013 from 12:00-1:00 at the West Palm Beach Marriott located at 1001 Okeechobee Boulevard. This is a free event for people to come and learn more about the PACE program. The Believing in Girls luncheon is a fundraiser and guests will be asked to consider making a contribution. While there are specified donation options, there is no minimum and no maximum gift requested. As much as anything, we want people to come and find out about the great programs offered at PACE and to hear first hand from PACE girls the positive difference PACE has made in their lives. We appreciate the time constraints we all face and it is our commitment to those gracious enough to give of their time to limit this event to one hour. In that one hour period, people will be informed about, and moved by, the success story that is PACE Center for Girls. So much can be accomplished in a short time period and it makes a tremendous difference to PACE.

We have only 5 slots left open for individuals that may be interested in serving as Table Captains who invite guests to fill a table of 10. Table Captains are people who connect with PACE Center for Girls and who can relay their passion and belief in our mission to others in the community.  If interested in serving as a Table Captain or attending the Believing in Girls Luncheon, please contact Angela Clarke at 561.472.1990 ext 14 or This email address is being protected from spambots. PACE Center for Girls is seeking your help in providing an opportunity of a lifetime for our girls. In the fall of 2013, we will be embarking on a trip to the heart of our nation, Washington, D.C. The objective of our trip will bridge the gap between the academic study of government and politics. It will put a “real face to government” while providing valuable insights and knowledge that are not available in the classroom.

The girls will be treated to a comprehensive look at Washington, D.C. from the inside – ranging from a special V.I.P. tour of the White House, a symbol of vigor of American democracy to the U.S. Capitol, where under one of the world’s largest domes – the magnificent cast iron Rotunda – members of House and Senate engage in spirited debates that determine the laws of the land.

Girls will continue to experience Washington, D.C.’s most familiar vistas, such as the U.S. Supreme Court, Vietnam Women’s Memorial, Justice Department, National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of African Art, United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Nation Museum of Women in the Arts, Arlington National Cemetery, Washington Monument, Ford’s Theatre, F.B.I. Building, Pentagon, Kennedy Center, and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, just to name a few of the most venerable and celebrated monuments and museums, theatres and galleries in our Nation’s Capital.

Please help us to provide an unforgettable educational, cultural and a lifetime experience through the exploration of Washington, D.C. Your tax-deductible contribution is an investment in our girls - tomorrow’s leaders. Would you consider a gift to support our vital services for girls?
