Teacher Aide

Position Summary: Provides assistance to Teacher Advisors in academic and classroom activities and provides remedial or individual instruction to students based on individual need.

Responsibilities include the following.

  • Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
  • Provides tutoring.
  • Prepares, administers, and grades examinations; files student papers and other paperwork.
  • Follows lesson plan, teach and supervise class in the absence or the Teacher Advisor.
  • Assists in the administration of state required complying with state regulations.
  • Assists in developing student schedules according to Academic Roadmap.
  • Assists with the creation of training materials; delivers training for various topics.
  • Participates in parent conferences as needed.
  • Makes necessary recommendations to supervisor regarding program improvement.
  • Enters data into Data PACE system.
  • Adheres to established budget guidelines.
  • Maintains attendance records.

Education and/or Experience and Technical Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Prefer Associates or Bachelors Degree. Minimum six months experience in an educational environment preferred; minimum experience using personal computers and database software required; current Florida driver’s license required.
