Social Services Manager
Position Summary: Works with minimal supervision
from Executive Director or Program Director to manage the social service
staff and provide administrative control of day-to-day therapeutic
service by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties (not all inclusive):
- Assesses student therapeutic needs and educate staff regarding
appropriate services.
- Provides counseling, clinical consultation, or crisis intervention
to students and families.
- Provides psycho-educational groups based on individual needs assessments.
- Ensures case management needs are provided; provides training
to staff involving all therapeutic needs and reporting required.
- Participates in parent conferences as needed; facilitates care
review meetings.
- Ensures that all disclosures of abuse and neglect are reported
accurately.
- Provides each classroom with current emergency contact information
and procedures.
- Implements strategies decided upon in management meetings.
- Communicates and update daily activities.
- Communicates with families of students and appropriate professionals
about progress of students, i.e.Technical schools, School Boards,
Guidance.
- Follows organized process to report data.
- Submits JJIS reports to the State Office.
- Reviews student files monthly to ensure needs assessments, ITP’s
monthly parent contacts, data logs and home visits are handled accurately
and timely; prepares reports as necessary; ensures contractual obligations
are met.
- Monitors social service training requirements and ensure license
certifications are current.
- Directs and supervises transitional services for PACE.
- Monitors, supervises, and evaluates Interns.
- Monitors and supervises contractual therapists, and outside service
providers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience and Technical Skills:
Master’s Degree from four-year college or university. Major
in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Counseling or a related
field is required.
- Minimum three to five years experience in Education or Social
Services environment required; current Florida driver’s license
required; supervisory experience in a social services environment
and at-risk youth experience is preferred; knowledge of therapeutic
expectations of state and school districts i.e. AIP, ESE, ESOL, etc.
preferred; knowledge of laws relating to children and families preferred.
