Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary: Provides general oversight, planning and safety for the facility and infrastructure including maintenance, IT, office equipment, and cleaning.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Ensures overall safety, maintenance and cleanliness of campus, facilities and equipment.
  • Provides proper physical environment for the girls while also safeguarding the investment in the campus
  • Develops and maintains a scheduled facility maintenance and improvement plan to include short term and long term planning objectives including submission of budget proposal to support such projects.
  • Conducts scheduled campus inspections and work with ED to assess and prioritize maintenance and safety compliance issues.
  • Ensures center is in full compliance with all agency contracts including DJJ Q/A standards regarding maintenance, vehicles and safety.
  • Supervises Facilities Maintenance Aide and volunteers as well as special student community service projects.
  • Supervises external contracted vendors such as: landscapers, plumbers, electricians, cleaning and floor care, roofers, locksmiths, furniture dealers, IT vendors, audio-visual equipment, and general office equipment vendors.
  • Obtains bids from vendors as needed and make recommendations to ED.
  • Ensures the maintenance of agency vehicles.
  • Schedules and supervises scheduled safety drills such as: fire, tornado, emergency drills (codes red, yellow and green) and first aid.
  • Maintains IT network environment including servers, pcs, printers, cctv, software licensing and updates and other equipment as deemed appropriate. Assist ED in working with vendors and board members to establish network protocols, overall system design and long term network planning and upgrades.
  • Oversees general space use including the use by external entities.
  • Supervises set-up and break down of facility’s group spaces for events; assists with on and off campus special events, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience and Technical Skills:
Minimum of High School Diploma. Completion of vocational school or Associates Degree, preferred; Minimum of one-year experience in facility maintenance/repair required; experience in general trades as well as landscaping, irrigation systems, HVAC, drywall and painting; knowledge of state and school district policies preferred; e xperience in general network maintenance; current Florida driver’s license required.
