ESE Teacher
Position Summary: To provide instruction of ESE curriculum to grades 6 – 12. Develop and maintain curriculum to assure adherence to standards. Maintain grades and tracks academic progress. Serve as an academic advisor to the girls and completes individual treatment plans for each girl in their advisee group.
Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
- Implement instructional strategies based on individual learning styles.
- Utilize classroom management techniques that foster a gender responsive environment.
- Administer the required standardized state or PACE testing including FCAT
- ESE compliance pre/post testing, etc.
Educate teaching staff of any curriculum or policy changes as they occur.
- Provide Advisee's with academic support and direction.
- Foster and facilitate the development of IAP goals.
- Develop leadership skills and skill development opportunities for girls.
- Participate in any parent conferences as needed.
- Prepare and participate in a care review meetings.
- Maintain appropriate relationships and set appropriate boundaries with girls.
Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Education or ESE, a related field. Florida teaching certificate or certificate eligible. Experience t eaching middle and/or high school level education to at-risk girls in an alternative education environment, preferred.
