Counselor I

Position Summary: The basic function of this position is to provide daily case management, familial and crisis counseling to girls of PACE Center as they transition into and out of the PACE environment.

Responsibilities: Informs girls and their families of academic, social services and therapeutic resources; coaches and mentors girls and their families for psychological, social, academic, self-esteem, self-actualization and security needs; makes independent decisions and recommendations to manage and deliver a quality program.

Requirement: Bachelor’ degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or a related field required. Knowledge of community resources and ability to network. Computer skills required. Must be able to travel locally and occasionally out-of-town, overnight travel is required. Must work evenings and weekends as required to fulfill workload requirements. Home visits and 24-hour crisis care required.

Experience: Two years prior experience working with at-risk girls who pose special academic and therapeutic challenges and group counseling is required.
