Academic Manager
Position Summary: Guides
and manages the administrative portion of the day-to-day academic program
and the implementation of strategies by providing leadership to direct
reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
- Ensures the administration of pre/post testing.
- Reviews and places each student into the PACE Program based on:
transcript review, pre/post testing and development of individual
schedules.
- Oversees the implementation of State or PACE required
standardized testing including FCAT, ESE compliance pre/post testing,
etc.; develops new educational services for review.
- Trains all academic
staff including substitute teachers in accordance with guidelines
set by the State of Florida; provides training to staff regarding
all academic needs; teaches class as required.
- Monitors implementations
of the School Improvement plan quarterly, provide feedback with
a formal report as required.
- Prepares and submits all necessary
documentation to appropriate agencies to comply with school board
requirements and PACE policy; ensures the accuracy of transcripts.
- Develops and coordinates schedule/special events with Social Services
Manager.
- Oversees the implementation of the strength Based Behavior
Management System.
- Monitors daily academic operations and ensures
teaching standards are in accordance with State Guidelines.
- Recommends
for hire, trains, supervises and evaluates academic staff on an
on-going basis; ensures new employee orientation is completed.
- Monitors teacher’s training requirements and ensure license
certifications are current.
- Arranges for teacher substitutions
when needed; teaches class as required.
Education and/or Experience and Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university. Major
in Education, Social Services or a related field preferred; minimum
of three to five years experience required, preferably in an at-risk
environment; Florida State Teacher Certification or certification eligible;
Professional certification required; current Florida driver’s
license required; knowledge of educational expectations of state and
school districts preferred; knowledge of laws relating to children
and families preferred.
